Dental Bridges

Teeth are made to work together to help you chew, speak, and smile. When you lose a tooth, the nearby teeth will likely begin to tilt and the opposing teeth will begin to drift. A missing tooth in the lower jaw may cause a tooth in your upper jaw to shift down into that space, meaning your teeth will no longer be even or in a straight line. This can affect your bite and place more stress on your teeth and jaw joints, possibly causing pain and damage. You may also end up losing more teeth as a result.

Another thing that occurs following the result of a tooth extraction is bone loss. Calcium is laid down in response to pressure. Without the tooth in place, the body loses the signal to keep bone supporting the area where the tooth was. To combat this, we recommend placing a bone graft in the area.

To replace the missing tooth and avoid many complications that arise following a missing tooth, there are two permanent options – an implant or a bridge.

A dental bridge is a custom-made replacement tooth or teeth that fill the space where one or more teeth are missing.  It requires crowning the adjacent teeth and joining them to replace the missing tooth and bridging the gap. The bridge permanently restores your bite and helps prevent neighboring teeth from shifting.

Dentures: Complete & Partial

Modern Day Dental denture treatment plans are customized with services delivered to you in a safe, compassionate and non-judgmental environment. Dentures offer an affordable way to replace any number of missing teeth in your mouth.

Complete dentures provide value when a person is missing all of their natural teeth, whereas partial dentures replace only individual missing teeth to eliminate gaps and improve chewing, while relying on adjacent teeth for support. Denture treatment is customized specifically to each patient, and we can help you decide which option works best for you.

Full Mouth Rehabilitation

During your comprehensive exam, we will want to know what is most important to you.  If you have worn down your enamel from grinding and chipped teeth or have a general yellowing that will not resolve with whitening, you may be a candidate for a full mouth rehabilitation.  This involves careful planning, in which we work closely with one of the best lab technicians to rebuild your smile and your bite.  Our technique merges the use of a digital scan and digital photography to give you the smile that is ideal to your facial profile.  Schedule your consultation with us to answer any questions you may have and see how we do dentistry in a different way – the Modern Day Dental way.

Inlays & Onlays

Once a filling has begun to fail or decay underneath, the next step is to replace them with either a crown or an inlay/onlay depending on the size. Inlays and onlays are made of a stronger and more durable material than composite filling material. They preserve more of the tooth structure as compared to a crown. Similar to fillings, inlays and onlays are used to restore a tooth’s integrity and function following any damage. However, a standard filling is applied directly into/onto your tooth and hardens in your mouth, whereas inlays and onlays are custom-made in the laboratory and then cemented in place.

The restoration is dubbed an “inlay” when the material is bonded within the center of a tooth. Conversely, the restoration is dubbed an “onlay” when the extent of the damage requires inclusion of one or more cusps (points) of the tooth or full coverage of the biting surface.

Neuromuscular Treatment

Neuromuscular Treatment focuses on the correction of jaw misalignment. At Modern Day Dental, we can determine the optimal position of the jaw in order to correct misalignment and adjust how the upper and lower teeth come together.

The goal is to realign the jaw joint to a position that would help alleviate painful symptoms and discomfort from temporomandibular joint disorders. Neuromuscular treatment places emphasis on analyzing the gravitational pull in affecting the bite, as well as knowing the resting positions of jaw muscles.

Root Canal Therapy

When the nerve of a tooth is inflamed, infected, or there is decay bordering it, root canal therapy is essential.  It may also be necessary if the tooth has been devitalized from trauma or cracks. Once the root canal is completed, a buildup and a crown will be needed to build the tooth back and create a seal.

Same Day Dentures

If you need to have your remaining teeth removed and want an immediate replacement, same day dentures are the solution for you. At Modern Day Dental, we will take a digital scan or an impression of your mouth and have a custom made denture made to give you back your smile the same day you have your teeth removed.

Tooth Colored Fillings

Tooth-colored fillings, also known as composite fillings, are dental restorations designed to be inconspicuous and natural in appearance. They blend well with the teeth and appear more natural than amalgam fillings, which are metal and may contribute to cracking of your teeth.

At Modern Day Dental, tooth colored fillings allow us to preserve more of the natural tooth structure because composite materials chemically bond to the surface of the tooth as an adhesive. As a result, patients can preserve more of the natural portion of the teeth, while enjoying a restoration that is discreet, creating a more natural smile.
